Course Description
Sandtray therapy has been used with both adults and children to great success. This course takes a Jungian approach to sandtray therapy while also introducing eco-art therapy skills. Eco-art therapy usually includes doing therapy outdoors or using natural materials for creating art. In this introductory level course we will discuss some common eco-art sandtray therapy techniques for therapists and counselors.Course Objectives
After taking this course the student will be able to:- Develop skills for facilitating sandtray play therapy in clinical practice
- Develop skills for facilitating eco-art therapy in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Identify theoretical issues, ethics, & standards of practice for eco-art therapy
- Identify theoretical issues, ethics, & standards of practice for sandtray therapy
- Identify ways that eco-art therapy and sandtray therapy inform the practice of mindfulness
- Identify and describe how Sandtray Eco-Art Therapy can be used to facilitate mindfulness
- Identify and discuss a Jungian approach to sandtray therapy using eco-art approaches
Course Instructions
This is a LIVE course that will be offered on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 9 a.m. Pacific Daylight Savings TimeThe seminar will be held at a private residence in South Tacoma, Washington. A few days prior to the conference an email will be sent with the exact location.
This course is being presented as part of the requirements to become a LIVE sponsor of continuing education courses through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). The Mindful Ecotherapy Center, LLC is currently only approved for ONLINE courses, but in our effort to continually improve the quality of the courses we offer, we are in the process of applying for LIVE course approval.
This course is being offered for FREE as part of those requirements. We will be video recording parts of the exercises during the seminar. If you do not wish to be video recorded, please inform the facilitator prior to the beginning of the course

In our ongoing effort to improve the quality of the courses we offer, we will be applying to the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) to be able to provide LIVE continuing education opportunities in addition to our online offerings. At this time, this course IS NOT APPROVED by the National Board for Certified Counselors for continuing education credit. Since it is part of the application process, it does meet the standards required by the NBCC to be approved for continuing education credit; however the Mindful Ecotherapy Center, LLC is not currently approved for LIVE continuing education.
A course description including citations, references, and evaluation standards will be included in the documents for this course. If needed, you may present this document to your local licensing board.
